Job Description:
The Kirbyville Police Department is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our team as Patrol Officer. As a Patrol Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining public safety, enforcing local and state laws, and building positive relationships within our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine patrols in designated areas to prevent and detect criminal activity
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents
- Enforce traffic laws and investigate traffic accidents
- Perform arrests and issue citations as necessary
- Participate in community policing initiatives and engage with residents to foster trust and cooperation
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents and investigations
- Testify in court as required
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Minimum age: 21 years
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred but not required
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification, or ability to obtain certification
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Prior law enforcement or military experience is a plus
